An RN-to-BSN bridge program is designed specifically for registered nurses (RNs) to advance their education, allowing them to further help their patients. Nursing is a field that is constantly expanding, and it’s becoming increasingly more common for employers to require a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
A “traditional” BSN degree program typically takes about four years to complete, and often doesn’t require a nursing background to enter the program. In an RN-BSN program, active RN are typically able to use their previous nursing experience toward their degree, allowing them to complete it in half the time of a traditional BSN. Typical subjects covered in this degree program include nursing management, acute care, nursing care of vulnerable populations, and evidenced-based practice.
